Mobile climbing wall
The Reach has a mobile climbing wall available for hire. Kitted out with a range of routes for all abilities, it makes a fun and challenging addition to school sports days, scouting events, community youth projects or corporate events.
The three tier mobile wall is a towable 2,000kg trailer that raises to allow 9m climbing at suitable locations. The manufacturers have designed the small packed size to allow access to places indoors and out that no other equipment can reach. However, there are limitations that your establishment should be aware of to allow us to access the site, set up the mobile wall and to instruct safe climbing. Basic price: £700 per day (including transportation of wall to site, two instructors plus climbing equipment)
Generator hire: £25 per day (where no mains power available within 20 meters)
Site reconnaissance: £45 (optional, at your own risk)
The basic cost includes delivery and and set-up at the desired site, two of our qualified instructors to supervise and run the wall, and hire of all safety equipment eg. ropes, harnesses and helmets.

Access
The mobile wall and towing van are, combined, 11m in length. The wall itself extends with out-riggers to a width of 5m and on overall length of 5m. It needs hard flat ground that is accessible by minibus with no aerial obstructions below 11m at the site of set-up. It is possible that the mobile wall will need to be reversed into a site, to allow the detachment of the wall from the van, before set-up.
Set-up
The three tier system requires electrical power to elevate the telescopic sections. The wall has a 10m cable and we carry another 10m spare as an extension cable allowing 20m to a convenient power supply. The set-up process takes up to an hour from arriving at a site to being ready for use.
Instruction of safe Climbing
We have fully trained instructors and all the equipment needed for young persons (aged 7+) and adults alike to climb safely. However, we expect that the set-up site is safe for use with no obstacles or potential hazards that any lowering climber might injure themselves upon. If there are young persons involved in the activity we also ask that responsible adults are there to help supervise those not engaged in the activity.
Site Recce
Our fees do not include a site recce, though this is an option if you are unsure about your site meeting our specifications. This can be added to your invoice for a starting fee of £45. If you are sure that you can accommodate our access and site requirements you can defer a site recce but once booked we do have a cancellation policy that would place liability towards your establishment.
Cancellation Policy for School/Youth Groups
For all bookings we require a minimum of two weeks notice before the intended session date for cancellation or to make any changes to the original booking. In instances where the minimum notice period has not been given, we will require a payment of at least 50% of the total cost of the booking to be paid as a cancellation fee, plus any other losses The Reach may incur as a result of the change or cancellation. If notice is less than one week before the intended session date, then the full amount of the booking cost will be payable.
